Egyptians travelling to Malaysia are to submit pre-arrival online form: Ministry

Ahram - As of January 2024, all foreign nationals, including Egyptians, heading to Malaysia will be required to complete an online pre-arrival form providing information about personal details and the trip, the Immigration Department of Malaysia informed the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The form, known as the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC), must be submitted three days before the scheduled arrival, the foreign ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.

However, according to the statement, the new procedure does not apply to holders of diplomatic and official passports and those with permanent and long-term Malaysian residency.

The foreign ministry advised all Egyptians traveling to Malaysia to pre-register on the online card following the instructions provided by the Malaysian authorities. A Malaysia tourist visa is not required for Egyptian citizens for a stay of up to 90 days.

Malaysia is a popular tourist destination for many Egyptians, particularly honeymooners.

Egypt is a popular destination for Malaysians seeking to pursue Islamic studies at Al-Azhar University, a renowned institution known for its expertise in Islamic knowledge.
