President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi receives the Emir of the State of Qatar

The Presidency - Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, who is visiting Egypt.

The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that Mr. President held a session of discussions with his brother Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, which witnessed praise for the continued development in bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, and the two leaders agreed to continue activating the various frameworks of cooperation and mechanisms of consultation and coordination at all levels between the two countries.

The meeting also discussed the Israeli military escalation in the Gaza Strip, and the associated regional challenges, which are pushing the region in dangerous and uncalculated directions. 

In that context, the two leaders discussed the best ways to protect innocent civilians in Gaza and stop the bloodshed. They reviewed the intensive efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire and sustaining the delivery of humanitarian aid in quantities that meet the needs of the Palestinian people in Gaza. 

The rejection of any attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause was also confirmed. At the expense of the Palestinian people or the countries of the region, and rejecting attempts at forced displacement.

The spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic concluded his statements by noting that the two sides confirmed the continuation of consultations in order to stop the current escalation in order to reduce the suffering of civilians and spare the blood of the brotherly Palestinian people, leading to the establishment of their independent state in accordance with the terms of reference of international legitimacy and the achievement of just peace in the region.
