The Arab Parliament awards Sisi the "Leader's Medal"

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received today, Adel Al-Assoumi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament and member of the Bahraini Parliament, in the presence of Dr. Hanafi Jabali, Speaker of Parliament, and Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador Bassam Radi, official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, said that the meeting witnessed the President's awarding the "Leader's Medal", which is the highest honor presented by the Arab Parliament to kings and heads of state, in appreciation of the president's tireless efforts reflected in Egypt's conscious and discreet policies in the service of all issues of the Arab nation, the latest of which is reaching a ceasefire agreement between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, which contributed to reducing human and material losses in the Gaza Strip. 

On the other hand and in terms of the development and construction process in Egypt, which achieved unprecedented achievements that covered all aspects of life in the country, to present Egypt to the world as an Arab development model led by President Sisi.

President Sisi asked to convey his greetings to his brother, His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa of the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as all members of the Arab Parliament, expressing his appreciation to the Arab Parliament for granting him this high medal, in addition to his positions in support of issues affecting Egyptian national security, expressing pride for the efforts made by Parliament.

The Arab League as a platform for dialogue and democracy, and as a popular impetus for the Arab work system and an effective partner in serving the higher interests of the Arab nation and strengthening ties between its peoples, emphasizing in this context Egypt’s support for the efforts of the Arab Parliament to achieve the goals entrusted to it, and looking forward to discussing prospects for strengthening cooperation with the Arab Parliament to serve Common Arab issues.

Speaker Al-Soumi expressed his honor for the president to remain, praising Egypt’s role under the president’s leadership in maintaining Arab national security, as well as pushing forward joint Arab action at various levels, including the Arab Parliament, against the background of Egypt’s pioneering parliamentary experience and expertise; in addition to Egypt’s hosting of the temporary headquarters of parliament meetings. The Arab Parliament, which reflects the extent of belief in its effective role as one of the basic Arab mechanisms for communicating with peoples and taking effective positions in order to preserve the interests of Arab countries.

The meeting witnessed an exchange of views on the future vision of strengthening the role of the Arab Parliament, especially through the Parliament's "Arab Observatory for Human Rights". The President stressed the important role of the Observatory in formulating the Arab approach and vision towards human rights issues in its comprehensive and deep sense, through his contacts with various organizations Human rights at the global level, to explain the Arab point of view in this regard, to be a supportive axis for the relevant Arab position through the adoption of advanced cultural thought, stressing in this context that preserving Arab national security is a fundamental pillar for preserving human rights, especially through extended national relations and bridges of communication between all the Arab nation, as prejudice to national states leads to disintegration, destruction and violation of the basic rights of people, and future generations affected by the harsh conditions of insecurity and stability.
