Ahram - Egyptian and British military engineers engaged in collaborative training at the headquarters of Egypt’s Military Engineers Institute focused on effectively countering improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

The training encompassed a series of theoretical and practical activities, introducing advanced methods using the latest tools to detect and handle IEDs on roads and in facilities, said Egyptian Armed Forces Spokesman Gharib Abdel-Hafez Gharib in a statement on Saturday.

The final phase of the training was attended by several armed forces' commanders, the British ambassador to Cairo, and the assistant to the British defense attaché to Egypt.

The spokesman highlighted the significance attached by various brotherly and friendly nations to counter-IED training with Egyptian forces. The spokesman emphasized the extensive experience and exceptional proficiency acquired by Egyptian military engineers in countering IEDs.

He further noted that these engineers rely on advanced scientific curricula that equip them with the necessary skills to efficiently and competently execute all assigned tasks.
