Egypt Daily News - An Israeli military official said, on Tuesday, that the military operation at the Rafah crossing is still ongoing, and this comes after the Israeli army announced, on Tuesday, that it had taken control of the Palestinian side of the crossing.

Hel added: “We have special forces surveying the crossing, and this is what will happen in the coming hours,” stressing: “We have operational control over the crossing area and we have special forces dealing there.”

The official did not announce a timetable for how long they would control the crossing, saying: “We are not talking about future operations and timetables.” The Rafah crossing represents a vital entry point for much-needed aid in Gaza.

On April 7, 2024, Egypt announced that it had increased the number of aid trucks entering the Strip to at least 300 trucks per day.
