USAID funds socio-economic empowerment programme targeted at 150K Egyptian women

Egypt Today - Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine Al-Qabbaj announced Wednesday that a funding worth almost $39 million – provided by USAID - would be directed to 150,000 women residing seven governorates.

The programme includes delivering workshops to raise awareness on financial inclusion, bullying, child harassment, women harassment, as well as assessing the performance of nurseries at private firms.

That is in addition to financing enterprises founded by women in the governorates of Cairo, Giza, Menya, Asyut, Sohag and Beheira. The programme - whose duration is five years - will be implemented in collaboration with 11 NGOs.
