Egyptian Football Association ‘EFA’ announced that the national team will be facing the United Arab Emirates in a friendly match on November 9 before the last match in the World Cup qualifiers against Ghana.
The Pharaohs have qualified for the 2018 World Cup for the first time since 1990 after beating Congo 2-1 in Alexandria, thanks to two goals from Mohamed Salah. Egypt’s remaining match in the qualifiers will be against Ghana three days after the friendly match on November 12 in Kumasi.
The EFA received an official request earlier from their counterparts in the UAE which was approved by Egypt’s head coach Hector Cuper as confirmed by national team director Ehab Lehita.
It is expected that Cuper will field the players who missed out on playing in the qualifiers during the team’s match against the Black Stars, like Sam Morsy, Hossam Ashour and Ahmed El-Sheikh.
