Egypt Daily News -Nasr Thabet, First Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply and Director of Cairo Supply, said that there was a noticeable decline in flour prices.
Thabet explained that the price of an 80-gram loaf of tourist bread is 150 piasters, while the price of a 40-gram loaf of bread is 75 piasters, and the price of a 25-gram loaf of bread is 50 piasters.

He added, during a telephone interview on the “Sabah Al-Balad” program, on Thursday, that the price of a loaf of Fino is 100 piasters for a loaf weighing 25 grams, and its price is 150 piasters for a loaf weighing 50 grams.

He pointed out that the decrease in flour prices, in addition to the decrease in the prices of a loaf of bread, will have a significant impact on the decrease in the price of sandwiches such as fava beans and falafel in restaurants in the coming periods.

Thabet pointed out that there are ongoing directives from the Minister of Supply to continuously monitor bakeries and work to implement presidential directives in order to serve the Egyptian citizen.

The First Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply and the Director of Cairo Supply also confirmed that an agreement had been reached with the Bakeries Division of the Ministry of Supply regarding determining the price and weight of tourist bread and Fino, ensuring that prices do not deviate in the coming period and adherence to the announced price after the decrease in flour prices.
