The Egyptian Meteorological department has warned of an imminent sandstorm advancing inland, stressing the need to be careful and wear masks, especially those with chest and sinus diseases, and the elderly, because being affected by these dust-laden winds causes them health problems.

The Meteorological department also stressed the need to close windows tightly and not expose children to these dust and sand laden winds at all, which are a cause for allergies or respiratory diseases.

Drivers need to slow down when driving in general and on desert roads in particular, for the lack or difficulty of visibility while traveling, especially on the desert roads.

Weather maps revealed the advance of the northeastern rain cells, heading further north, affecting the western sector of the country, with chances of rain falling on the northern coasts, northern Lower Egypt, and the Western Desert, and it may reach  Greater Cairo though weak.

Tomorrow, Friday, Cairo is expected to record 29 degrees Celsius during the day, and the chances of rain will continue on the northern coasts, the Suez canal cities, northern Lower Egypt, and the Red Sea mountain ranges at intermittent interval.
