Israel takes preliminary steps to invade Rafah by land

EgyptDailyNews - Israeli government spokesman Elon Levy said on Tuesday that Israel is preparing shelters for civilians in the Gaza Strip in preparation for a ground invasion of the city of Rafah. He then accused Hamas, of inventing a hunger crisis in the Gaza Strip in order to pressure Israel.

Levy stated that Israel is focusing its efforts to return the Israeli prisoners detained in Gaza as soon as possible, adding that 133 families are waiting for the return of their detained relatives as soon as possible.

He stated that the Palestinians' self-rule is a necessity, but at the same time he described the Palestinian state as "terrorism" and warned that its presence on Israel's borders would be a "disaster."

Levy also threatened Turkey with “parallel” measures that would harm the Turkish economy, in response to the restrictions imposed by the Turkish government on some of the Israeli goods.
