Israeli Foreign Minister: Stop Iran now before it is too late

EgyptDailyNews - In light of the unprecedented tension between the two countries since the beginning of this April, the subsequent Iranian strikes on Israeli sites, and Iranian threats of a frightening response if exposed to any new attack, Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz called on the international community to take action and repel Iran before it is too late.

Katz urged "32 countries to impose sanctions on the Iranian missile program and designate the Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization."

He also confirmed in a tweet posted on his account on the “X” platform today, Tuesday, that his country is leading a “political attack on Iran,” noting that “imposing sanctions on the Iranian missile program and designating the Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization will help contain and weaken Iran.”

Response options
This came as the Israeli War Council studied military options to respond to the recent Iranian attack, including targeting Iranian facilities while avoiding casualties.
He also discussed diplomatic options to increase Tehran's isolation on the global stage.

While the United States urged Tel Aviv to reduce escalation and exercise restraint, making clear at the same time that it would not participate in any Israeli attacks on Iranian interests.

Last Saturday, Tehran launched dozens of drones and cruise missiles towards Israel, after a senior Revolutionary Guard commander was killed in an Israeli attack targeting the Iranian embassy compound in Damascus on April 1.

Since that date, tensions in the Middle East have escalated in an unprecedented manner, coinciding with the continuation of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.

While a number of American officials suggested that the Israeli response would come at the end of this week, and that it would be limited so as not to ignite a regional or global war.

Some observers also expected that Israel would target Iranian military sites or agents and militias supported by Tehran in the region, or even carry out cyber attacks, or perhaps launch strikes against diplomatic missions again as well.
