The White House: Hamas’s position on the truce proposal is “less than encouraging”

EgyptDailyNews - The White House considered the position issued by Hamas as "less than encouraging" regarding a proposal that includes a calm in Gaza and an exchange of hostages and detainees.

US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said, “We have seen the public statements issued by Hamas, and it can be said that they are less than encouraging,” but he explained that the Qatari mediator in the Cairo negotiations has not yet received a final response from the Palestinian movement.

The mediating countries, namely Qatar, Egypt and the United States, put forward a proposal in three stages, the first of which stipulates a six-week truce, according to a source.
