Central Bank raises the daily withdrawals limits to 250,000 pounds from branches and 30,000 from ATM

EgyptDailyNews - The Central Bank of Egypt decided to increase the daily maximum limit for cash withdrawals from bank branches to 250,000 pounds for individuals and companies instead of 150,000 pounds, and from automated teller machines (ATMs) to 30,000 pounds instead of 20,000 pounds, according to a circular issued by the Central Bank today.

In a circular signed by Mr. Hassan Abdallah, the Central Bank governor, he instructed all banks to confirm the review of the internal policy of their banks to reflect the amended incoming limits, while updating the policy of maximum limits for cash withdrawals of foreign currencies set by the bank and approved by the Board of Directors.

These instructions came with reference to the letter issued on August 25, 2022 regarding the maximum limits for cash withdrawals and deposits, whether from bank branches or ATMs, and within the framework of the Central Bank’s keenness to provide further facilitation for citizens and companies.
