EgyptDailyNews - The Walla website quoted an Israeli official as saying that the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” responded to the mediators’ proposal by agreeing to release only 20 prisoners in exchange for a six-week ceasefire.

The US State Department said that our commitment to defending Israel is strong and our participation in defending it against the Iranian response is an expression of that.

Egypt, Qatar and the United States have been mediating between Israel and Hamas for several months. However, Israel has previously mentioned that it will return to invade Rafah, though it seems this has been postponed temporarily.
