Financial Times: Israel rejects the return of displaced Palestinians to northern Gaza

EgyptDailyNews - The Financial Times reported that there are sticking points, namely Israel’s refusal to demand the return of civilians to their homes in the northern Gaza Strip.

An informed source told the newspaper that the situation is very volatile, despite granting the director of the Israeli Mossad, David Barnea, a broad mandate, but he has not achieved anything significant so far.

The Director of US Intelligence, William Burns, presented a proposal to fill the gaps in the ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip, according to what was reported by CNN.

CNN pointed out that Washington wants the displaced residents to return to the northern Gaza Strip without restrictions, but Israel rejects that, stressing that what the Israeli government presented in the recent talks does not answer Hamas’ questions and demands.
